• Before machine washing, prepare any raw edges to stop fraying. Do this by trimming the raw edges with pinking shears or a pinking blade.
• When washing, use a gentle fragrance-free, neutral detergent on a gentle cycle with cold water.
• Purchase 5-10% extra fabric to allow for shrinkage when pre-washing
• To catch any possible colour bleeding, add several colour catchers into your wash cycle.
• Don’t wash precuts before sewing, there is a chance they will shrink and no longer be perfectly square or the right size for your pattern
• Wash light colours separate to darker colour fabrics
