- What is your Fabric Care Advice?
- Before machine washing, prepare any raw edges to stop fraying. Do this by trimming the raw edges with pinking shears or a pinking blade.
- When washing, use a gentle fragrance-free, neutral detergent on a gentle cycle with cold water.
- Purchase 5-10% extra fabric to allow for shrinkage when pre-washing
- To catch any possible colour bleeding, add several colour catchers into your wash cycle.
- Don’t wash precuts before sewing, there is a chance they will shrink and no longer be perfectly square or the right size for your pattern
- Wash light colours separate to darker colour fabrics
- What is the fabric composition of your fabrics?
We mainly supply 100% Patchwork Cotton. We do have a range of 55% Linens and 45% Cottons as well.

Painterly (2058)
It’s no surprise that De’s fabric design work has its roots in her painting practice. She loves to see all that detail and texture translated onto fabrics, and then into beautiful sewn items. For Painterly, De has stayed very close to the things that make her heart beat a little faster- the very things she uses to make paintings! Her colours, knives, and brushes are the stars of this show, patinated as they are with decades of use in her studio. The drip designs are quite literally developed from her studio drop cloths, and this colour wheel is the one De hand painted for use in her classroom. She can’t wait to get her hands on these fabrics herself, and she can’t wait to see what wonderful sewing projects you dream up with them!
